About the event
Most of us are aware that food insecurity and shade equity are big problems only being made worse by climate change. But Portland actually has an often overlooked superpower in the fight against both of those problems: our beautiful, bountiful fruit trees!
We're coming together to lend a hand to the Portland Fruit Tree Project - their mission is to care for these city treasures and share their nutritional wealth to those in need. They're hosting a harvest and work party at the Sabin Community Orchard on Oct 20th from 2-4pm. Join us under the autumn branches to help foster climate resilience in one of our most ethnically and economically diverse neighborhoods.
Some notes on what to expect:
- we'll be doing light pruning/landscaping/harvesting work outside
